No visit to Northern Thailand is complete without witnessing the golden splendor of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Perched 3,500 feet above sea level, this sacred temple is a masterpiece of Lanna architecture, centered around a shimmering golden pagoda that houses a holy relic of the Lord Buddha. Your journey begins with a scenic drive up the lush slopes of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. Upon arrival, you can choose to challenge the iconic 306-step Naga serpent staircase or take a convenient funicular to the summit, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views of Chiang Mai city below. After soaking in the spiritual atmosphere of the temple, the tour continues deeper into the mountains to the Doi Pui Hmong Hill Tribe Village. Here, you will step into a different world where traditional customs are still a way of life. Wander through the village’s terraced gardens, visit a local tribal museum, and see residents in their intricately embroidered traditional clothing. This is an excellent opportunity to support the local community by browsing handmade textiles, silver jewelry, and mountain-grown coffee. This half-day excursion perfectly blends religious heritage with authentic cultural discovery, leaving you with a deeper understanding of the diverse souls that call the North "home."

Climbing the Naga stairs to Doi Suthep was a workout but totally worth it for the panoramic city views. Loved seeing the different handicrafts at the Hmong village.
The views from Doi Suthep were incredible, really saw how big Chiang Mai is. The Hmong village was interesting, saw some nice weaving.
The drive up to Doi Suthep was scenic, and the temple itself is quite impressive with all the gold. The Hmong village felt a bit staged but it was a good glimpse into their life.
