The Kerchor Elephant Family Phuket is a dedicated sanctuary that prioritizes the well-being of its resident elephants over tourist entertainment. Founded by a Karen family with generations of experience in elephant care, this sanctuary moved its successful ethical model from Chiang Mai to the heart of Phuket. Here, you will find a peaceful haven where elephants are treated with dignity and love, far removed from the city's hustle and bustle. Your half-day program begins with a warm welcome and a briefing on elephant behavior and the sanctuary's mission. You’ll change into traditional mahout clothing and get hands-on by preparing nutritious vitamins and snacks. After a joyful feeding session, follow the elephants on a leisurely jungle walk to observe their natural social interactions. The adventure continues at the mud spa and natural pool, where you can help the elephants stay cool by scrubbing them with mud and splashing in the water. This immersive experience doesn't just offer great photos—it supports the rescue of more elephants and preserves the unique cultural heritage of the Karen people in Phuket.

This was such a genuine elephant experience. Getting to prepare their vitamin balls and feed them fresh greens felt really meaningful. The walk through the jungle with them was peaceful, and the mud spa was surprisingly fun!
It was a really nice experience feeding and bathing the elephants. The mud spa was messy but fun! A bit crowded with other groups but the sanctuary itself felt authentic.
