loved learning about the rescued elephants and their personalities. The Karen mahouts were so gentle and informative, especially when explaining the sanctuary's mission. It felt like a truly ethical encounter.
really enjoyed preparing the fruit for the elephants and feeding them by hand in Kathu. the rain shower part was surprisingly fun and the mahouts were so knowledgeable about the Karen traditions.
The Kerchor family sanctuary was very calm and the elephants seemed well cared for. Getting to feed them directly was the best part, and the free photos were a nice bonus. It was a bit crowded with other guests during the shower though.
